Work Log - Tom Servo

This is the work log page for Tom Servo. Mostly it just displays dates I aquired parts and is more for my reference than anything, but, if someone thinks it to be interesting, good.

3/12/2000 - Went to the flea market today, didn't find anything, although I did get some good strawberries at a fruit stand.
3/13/2000 - Scavenged the house today looking for possible parts, didn't find anything but an old M&M candy gumballish like dispenser.
3/15/2000 - Went to mall today to get Tom's head. Candy Shop didn't have one!!! I saw a C'More Bunz Doll in Spencers, but opted against spending $17 for it. I am going to have to hit the hardware store for springs.
3/15/2000 - Just read from my handy "Modeler's Resource" Magazine and realized I need the C'More Bunz Doll for the upper arms anyway. Doh!
3/23/2000 - Won an auction on ebay for a "Barrel Of Monkey's Barrel." Not the actual Tom Servo barrel, but a great alternative for us poor students who can't afford to spend $60 on a resin recast of the real thing. (For the record, this barrel is only an inch bigger than the real one.)
3/24/2000 - Went back to the mall and bought a C. More Bunz doll, my first piece of the Tom Servo Puzzle. (And it was only $15 at this mall! HA!)
3/25/2000 - As there is only 1 candy shop in the whole state (NC) where I live, and they didn't have any "Executive Snack Dispensers", I sent my Nana to the local Mr. Bulky's in New Jersey where she lives to go buy me 2 and give them to me next time I see her. But alas, Mr. Bulky's didn't have any! Not one! They had those goofy "sports" ones, but you can't quite make a Tom Servo out of them.
3/26/2000 - Scavenged every store in a hundred mile radius of my house. NOTHING! Not even crown pins at the dollar store.
4/3/2000 - Got my "Barrel Of Monkey's Barrel" Today. The box was ½ the size I expected it to be. I opened it up, and not only was it not the 10 inch barrel I was expecting, or a real Tom Servo Barrel, it was a 4½" mini Servo Barrel. Not what I thought I won. Moral of the story: Ask how big the item is if it isn't in the auction listing before bidding!
4/9/2000 - Just won an auction on a "Giant Barrel Of Monkeys Barrel." I am sure this is the real thing! Not a mini one. As it will be coming from Canada, shipping will be $6.00. On another note, I now have a tiny barrel of monkeys barrel if anyone wants to trade for it.
4/15/2000 - Took a drive by the local Thrift Store, I didn't even know we had one. Well, it was closed! I closes at 2 on weekends and at 3 during the week!.
4/30/2000 - Got my "Giant Barrel Of Monkeys Barrel" in the mail today, from Canada. Love that ebay.
5/1/2000 - Went to the 2 local craft shops looking for a "Decor" bowl. Supposedly they make great Servo Boo Bowl substitutes, and supposedly they are available at Michaels. Well, mine didn't.
5/6/2000 - Hit every other thrift store in the county, about 15 yard sales, and 2 flea markets. 1 word: Nothing.
5/8/2000 - My Vacuformed Turbo Trains, Cast Resin Hands, And Custom Springs came in the mail today. Woooo hooooo!
5/20/2000 - My first of 2 Servo heads won in seperate auctions arrived in the mail today.
5/21/2000 - Went over to my friends house and discovered through his little brother that they have a late model "Eveready Floating Flashlight Lantern." His Dad let me have it, all I need to do is buy them a new one.
5/25/2000 - Got the second Servo head in the mail today.
5/27/2000 - Well, I'm reporting again, 1 million yard sales, but not one bot part. None the less, I do have the remaining 3 Servo parts I need coming to me in a trade and an E Bay purchase.
5/28/2000 - Went out and bought 2 cans of Testors Ruby Metal Flake. I will be priming my bot in silver, so 3 cans were not nescessary.
6/16/2000 - Since I don't know how to build a vacuforming machine for Servo's shoulders I had to get 2 flashlights. The second one came today! all I need now is an engine block and a boo bowl; both of which should come soon!
6/23/2000 - Went to my local ACE Hardware to pick up a 3" Lazy Susan Bearing. They only had a 4" one, but if I round off the corners, it'll work, so I bought it. I also got the PVC pieces I need and the foam tube for the base of the hovorskirt. All I need is an engine block and a boo bowl.
7/06/2000 - Engine block and bowl finally arrived. WHOOSH!
7/06/200 - 7/12/2000 - Parts being cut, drilled, painted, and fitted together. Mostly though, its just waiting for paint to dry and continually fixing his beak.
7/13/2000 - Servo is complete, finally, just in the nick of time for gateway. His paint was probably still a bit tacky when he went into my suitcase.
